How does IDS benefit the non-profit organization?
We help NPO's by becoming their personal outsourced procurement department. In addition to finding donations of products that fill their greatest needs, IDS oversees all the details of warehousing, sorting, distributing and tracking. We are experts at processing donations quickly; this saves them time and money.

IDS helps NPO’s by:
• Providing only the products they want.
• Becoming a warehousing and logistics specialist for the NPO.
• Making very large donations available in useable quantities.
• Thoroughly inspecting, sorting and digitally photographing the donor's entire shipment to guarantee proper classification.
• Ensuring accountability and error free handling of each donation by using our inventory software program (MAS 90)

How do I know my excess inventory will go to a non-profit organization?
We work with reputable 501(c)(3) non-profit organizations only. Many of the over 1,000 groups we work with have utilized the benefits of IDS for years. IDS is there every step of the way, we track all inventory from beginning to end.

Does IDS respect specific inventory criteria?
Yes, IDS understands that you have preferences as to where inventory may be distributed. No matter the reason (keeping products out of competitive sales areas, philanthropic focus, safety concerns), we will respect your request. Each corporation is provided a detailed report outlining the contents of their inventory and the non-profit group who received it. When possible, we provide pictures and personal letters of thanks from those who benefit from your generosity.

Who benefits from my excess inventory?
Your inventory will be used solely to benefit the ill, needy and infants. With a network of over 1,000 non-profit groups, products are distributed around the world.

We work with non-profit groups making a difference in: The United States, Romania, Moldova, Ukraine, Haiti, Nicaragua, Liberia, Chile, Colombia, Dominican Republic, Ecuador, Guatemala, Honduras, India, Mexico, Philippines, Zambia, Ethiopia, Kenya, Sierra Leone, Mozambique, Zimbabwe, and Uganda.

Is it safe to donate drugs through IDS?
IDS has been handling pharmaceutical donations for over 15 years. We respect your distribution preferences. We will only accept pharmaceutical for which we have a verified need within our non-profit network.

• IDS is licensed by the DEA and the Oklahoma State Board of Pharmacy.
• All pharmaceuticals will be distributed within their proper dating guidelines.
• We keep track of all lot numbers associated with the products.
• Should pharmaceuticals expire before distribution, all excess will be disposed of properly and at our cost.

What are the tax benefits in donating excess inventory?
Sometimes you can receive up to 200% of the cost of the donated items in tax benefits.

Ultimately, the exact value must be determined by your tax advisors. According to Section 170(f)(8) of the Tax Code, recipient organizations are not allowed to assign a value to your donated merchandise. You must decide for yourself the legal amount that can be written off for your specific situation.

As tax laws change, it’s impossible to state exactly what your benefits might be. IDS will always provide documentation outlining the contents of your donation and each recipient’s tax EIN number.
